Challenger Center for Space Science Education

Challenger Center for Space Science Education is a nonprofit educational organization with its headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, and an international network of Challenger Learning Centers. The organization was founded in April 1986 by the families of the astronauts who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986.

The logo of Challenger Center is a space shuttle lifting off. The blue ball and white outline represents the Earth and its atmosphere. The seven stars represent the seven astronauts who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. The logo is modified slightly for each center.
